We have started to document our move across to the Sony system. We have sold our Fuji gear and purchased the Sony A73 along with some new glass.
But we didn’t just adjust from Fuji to Sony at the same time we decided to move from Adobe Lightroom to Capture One Pro 11 (C1).
Capture One Pro 11
If you haven’t looked at C1 we beg you to get on YouTube and watch some videos, and by heck, get over to the C1 website and download a trial. If you are a Sony user reading this, you can get the full-blown C1 dedicated for Sony for just £89!!!!! you did read that right. And not these are not affiliate links or anything, we just really like what C1 offers.
We find C1 renders the Sony Raw files lovely, giving nice sharpness and crispness, as well as lovely colours straight out of camera. The main thing we love is the colour adjustment tools, they are simply incredible over what Lightroom offers. You can mix the ability to play with these colours with layer masks. There are plenty of videos online about this, we do plan to give our view on this once we have settled into the system.
C1 Mac Error
So the C1 error and Mac…when we installed C1 and opened it we got an error saying it couldn’t write and create folders it needed, namely keywords and recipes. In our latest video we give an explanation of how to solve this:
The Loupedeck is a great bit of kit, using it with LR was simply a game changer in the time it was taking to edit weddings. We really wanted to use it with C1 as well, good news you can, Loupedeck have just released version 2.3 and I can report it works a lot better with C1, although still in ‘beta’.
We are looking forward to settling in with Sony, C1 and the Loupedeck, will report back again soon.
