How to use Face Detect in Movie Mode on the Fuji X-T2
So you’ve purchased that beautiful new Fuji XT2 after reading reviews that the image and video quality are outstanding as well as the fast accurate autofocus. You read that the Fuji X-T2 can record video in full 4K and that it has excellent Face Tracking!
The first thing you do is switch it into movie recording mode and set the video quality to 4K. You then start recording away and wonder why there is no face tracking?
You go into the cameras menu and think to yourself “I’ll turn on face detect, simple”. Only to find that the option is grayed out and not available?
You read the manual, you google it, you search YouTube and there is nothing available to explain why you are unable to select Face Detect? It works fine in photo mode?
So how do you fix this issue?
Switch you video quality to 1080p and hey presto..
The option is now available, switch it on and watch the Face Detect work as you would expect
I don’t understand why this doesn’t work while your camera is set to 4K? Lets hope Fuji create a fix for this as its such a handy feature to have!
Hope this has helped you
