Another ‘quick’ review from us here at The Photography Team of the Peak Design 5L Sling.
This one is a start of a new journey with a Camera Accessory designer, Peak Design.
I’ve (Ben) been very much a lover of the ‘finer’ products when it comes to camera accessories, opting for some of the quite expensive items to give a ‘look’. By this I mean leather products, straps, bags etc. Leather is an incredibly hard wearing a beautiful material, as you can probably tell from our previous blog posts and YouTube videos, we like a bit of leather when it comes to completing the ‘look’ for us.
I had heard of Peak Design some time ago, I think I was introduced to some of their items at The Photography Show here in the UK. I didn’t pay much attention as I wasn’t looking for that type of product, but I did purchased something…their Field Pouch. I wanted a product which would allow me easier access to my batteries for the camera and speedlights as well as memory cards. The field pouch was the item I wanted in leather, just no one made one.
Since then I have been on the lookout for affordability and practicality. The expensive leather bags I have owned and own, don’t offer the level of functionality I find Peak Design does. I have a small leather bag I was using at Weddings to carry a my other lenses with me, this attached to the double camera strap we wore. Since moving away from strap to holsters, all because of our move to Fuji, I wanted something to work nicely, welcomed sighting of the newly announced Peak Design 5L Sling.
